Supported Platforms

  • Kolab on Kubernetes can in principle work on any (Linux) Kubernetes distribution, but initially aims at two target platforms: K3S and Openshift
  • Packages are not available for the current generation of Kolab.
  • The only supported architecture is x86. ppc64le be supported on openshift by building images on openshift.
    • Platform support depends on availability of third party packages, as well as compatiblity of source code.

Reference VM Image

The reference VM image is based on AlmaLinux 9, and all ansible scripts are tailored to this VM image. Other linux distributions are in principle possible (as long as k3s is available), but documentation and tooling are based on this platform.
